About Me
I’m a brown therapist and I live in Asheville. I’m tempted to just stop right there and I won’t. I am open to people drawn to work with me and primarily work with people who identify in social positions that are historically/currently oppressed (although not necessarily identifying as oppressed in that social position, other positions, or as a whole person).
((Sigh)). So many thoughts entering my mind, now feeling a tingling, energy moving through my arms. Thoughts that I may sound “cheesy” or “woo woo”. ((Deep breath)). Letting go of my thoughts and paying attention to the sound of the keyboard as I type this.
I often, if not always, bring the now as well as my authentic self to the therapeutic relationship. To give you advice that is not asked for by you, to analyze and "treat" you, is counter-intuitive to how I am both as a person and professional. My awareness (or at least most of the time anyway) is on being who I am when I'm with you, what happens in-between us when we are being, and to experience what is. The “woo woo” voice is back. ((deep breath)) and letting that go.
My work is informed by the education, training, and experience I have as a licensed therapist, as well as my own work, my life, and my experiences. I have invitation for you to be aware of what happens in you as you're reading my post. If you feel called to contact me, I welcome you. If you don't feel called to contact me, I welcome you.
